The Umbrella Market is a weekly uptown farmer’s market where you will find fresh produce, jewelry, antiques, baked goods, local craft brew and hot sauce!
The market is held every Wednesday evening from 5:00-8:00pm, May 2nd through August 29th on Evans St. in uptown Greenville.
It's that time of year again! The Pitt Community College Foundation presents The Down East Holiday Show to raise funds for student scholarships and educational activities at Pitt Community College.
Island Time will be there again this year!. The show is at the Greenville Convention Center in Greenville, NC Nov 3-6

The 10th Annual North Carolina Blueberry Festival will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Historic Downtown Burgaw. The Festival celebrates the historic, economic, and cultural significance of blueberries in the southeastern region of our state. The first cultivated blueberry production in North Carolina began in the Pender County area in the 1930’s. Today, Pender County ranks second in blueberry production for the entire state.

"The Winterville Watermelon Festival is pleased to announce the first ever North Carolina Steak
Cook-off is coming to Eastern Carolina. Events will kick off Friday, April 12th, 2013 with
amusement rides and free entertainment. On Saturday, April 13th, cooks, vendors, and citizens from
around the country will make their way to Winterville, NC – rain or shine.
Teams will compete for the best tasting 16 ounce steak. Besides a great steak dinner, attendees
and participants will enjoy live entertainment, a craft show and a car show. The North Carolina
Steak Cook-off is the first steak cook-off in North Carolina, and one of only three
such competitions on the East Coast.
There will be two divisions competing for prizes: the Grill Master Division and the Fire Department Division. This event will feature both local and National teams competing for over $6,000 in cash
prizes in 2 divisions as well as bragging rights to be the First NC Steak Cook-Off Champion. The public will join in the fun through the purchase of a $20 ticket redeemable for a full steak dinner with fixings featuring a 16oz ribeye. Ticket holders will be allowed to select their favorite chef for their steak dinner.
Tickets are on sale now for $20. Any group or organization wishing to sell tickets may contact us to do so and will receive a portion back from those ticket sales."

Get sauced in historic downtown Oxford on Saturday, September 8 from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM for the 6th Annual North Carolina Hot Sauce Contest. Over 70+ vendors take part in this event. Come sample and purchase hot sauces, barbeque sauces, beers, wines and special foods all made in North Carolina.
This year should be bigger and better than ever and all the activities will certainly spice up the blends and texture of downtown’s historical streets.
